EKO HOT BLOG reports that On February 11, 2023, a group of supporters of the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, were attacked at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos. The supporters were waiting for Peter Obi’s arrival after he had visited Alaba earlier in the day.
However, their wait was cut short as they were attacked by political thugs armed with machetes and other dangerous objects.
The assailants, in their attack, destroyed several cars belonging to the supporters.
The medical personnel at Tafawa Balewa Square were said to be overwhelmed by the destruction and those that were victims of the attack as they attended to the injured victims.
The attack has been widely condemned, with Dele Momodu, a supporter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, speaking out against the violence. Momodu stated that there was no justification for the attack.
The incident was recorded and shared on social media, with the video showing the chaos and destruction caused by the political thugs.
Despite the attack, supporters of Peter Obi have vowed to continue their support for their candidate and his vision for a new Nigeria. The police have been alerted and are investigating the incident.
