Peter Obi visited Taraba State in the middle of the flood crisis.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, has visited Taraba State in continuation of his tour of flood-ravaged areas in the country.
This online media platform recalls that the former Governor of Anambra State had called on presidential candidates to suspend their campaigns and assist victims of flooding in the country.

The LP presidential flagbearer also announced that he had suspended his campaign activities to visit victims across the country.
Speaking during his visit to Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba on Tuesday, Obi advised the Federal Government to immediately declare a state of emergency in areas affected by flooding.
The former Anambra governor also called on the government to begin the desilting of River Niger and River Benue to avoid a recurrence of the natural disaster.
Obi asserted that by desilting the two rivers, the water bodies would begin to contribute to the well-being of the people, and not be a source of trouble for the masses.
He said: “We are calling on the government to come with interventions, declare all the affected states – a disaster area.
“What the Federal Government has to do to stop this is to ensure that the waters are desilted.
“The rivers have all been silted and we need to work on them, this is easy, it is done globally, all over the world.”
The LP presidential candidate claimed that several contracts have been given out to fix situations like this in Nigeria, but nothing has been done.
Assessing the level of damage caused by the flood, Obi reassured the victims of his firm support even as they try to survive in this difficult time.
He insisted that the federal government must send a high-powered delegation to evaluate losses because states alone cannot cope with such disaster.
