EKO HOT BLOG reports that Comedian Basketmouth has sparked controversy on social media after a post that appears to be a subtle dig at Peter Okoye of the famous music duo P-Square.
The post was made in response to a statement made by Peter Okoye during a recent feud with Nigerian musician, Seun Kuti.
Peter Okoye had claimed that despite his father being a “nobody,” he had managed to make a name for himself and then challenged Seun Kuti to drop his surname and see if anyone would know him.
In response, Basketmouth wrote on Twitter: “If our fathers never existed, we wouldn’t be here. Nobody is self-made.” He added, “I’m just saying.”
The comedian’s post received widespread criticism from many of his followers, who accused him of not comprehending the message Peter Okoye was trying to convey.
Despite the backlash, Basketmouth has not yet issued a statement clarifying his position on the matter.
