Pharmacists Take Center Stage at Island Maternity
Lagos Island Maternity Hospital (LIMH) hosted a two-day event to highlight the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare.
With the theme “Pharmacists: Meeting Global Health Needs,” the hospital’s pharmacy department organized interactive sessions, free medical checks, and awareness campaigns to promote safe medication practices and wellness.

On day one, experts discussed proper drug dosage and the dangers of drug abuse, while day two saw a lively sensitization campaign with free medicines and health checks.
Medical Director Dr. Olufemi Omololu praised the hospital’s pharmacists for their dedication, and Head of Department Pharmacist Solape Adebayo emphasized the importance of authorized medication sources.
This event underscores LIMH’s commitment to promoting health awareness and well-being in the community, and recognizes the hard work and resilience of pharmacists in making a difference in patients’ lives.
