Bol Manute, The Sudanese – American basketballer was said to be the tallest players in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA).
He played for Bridgeport Purple Knights during his playing days and was then selected by the to play for Washington Bullets in the year 1915.
During the course of his NBA career, Bol Manute played from 1985 to 1995. He is considered among the best shot-blockers in the history of the sport.
He was said to be the only NBA player to retire with more career blocked shots than points scored, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
On June 19, 2010, Bol Manute died from acute kidney failure and complications from Stevens–Johnson syndrome at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, Virginia.
His body was laid in an eight foot-long specially built casket when he was buried in South Sudan.
