BIAFRAN SOLDIERS
1. Augustine Ifeanyi Aniebo
He is the Commandant , the Biafran 58 brigade at Uyo & was detained by Ojukwu Odumegwu until the end of the war following the fall of Uyo in the year 1965 .
Some years later , he returned to Nigerian Army , he later became the sole administrator of Bornu state and eventually Kogi state during the transition regime of Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar . He retired as a General .
2.Colonel Robert Akonobi
Colonel Robert Akonobi commanded the Biafran 57 Brigade & over an eighteen -month period engaged federal troops in a battle of attrition and successfully blew an 8-mile gap in the 13-mile ONITSHA-ABAGANA front which prevented a link up between the one (1) Division approaching from Abagana and the two (2) Division at Onitsha.
After his return to the Nigeria Army,he was appointed military Governor of Anambra State , within the time space of December 1987 to August 1990 during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida (retired) .
3. Emeka Omeruah
Emeka Omeruah commanded the Biafran 65 Brigade which fought and performed excellently well in the Aba axis . He later became the Military Governor of Anambra State within the time space of August 1985 to December 1987.
4.Rear Admiral Ndubu isi Godwin Kanu
Rear admiral Ndubuisi Godwin Kanu is a Biafran Naval officer who commanded the Bonny River axis of the war . He was later appointed as a member of the Supreme Military Council (SMC) , the country’s highest decision-making body. He was also appointed as the military Governor of Imo State and eventually , the Governor of Lagos State.
5.Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe
Commodore Ebitu Ukiwe is the naval officers who fought on the side of Biafrans army . He later became the military Governor of Lagos State and Niger State respectively . Afterwhich , he retired in the Nigerian Navy .
6. Rear Admiral Allison Madueke
Rear admiral Allison Madueke is a Biafran war veteran. He was the sole administrator of Anambra State ( military governor ) within the time space of January 1984 to August 1985 & Imo State military governor from 1985 – 1986 .
He was elevated to the rank of Rear Admiral, between the time space of 1993 to 1994 and served within short time as Chief of Naval Staff under late General Sani Abacha.
He was sacked after a Supreme Military Council meeting in August 1994 because , he supported the release of the elected civilian President Moshood Abiola of blessed memory
7.Lt Col Paul Omeruo
He is the younger brother of Air Commodore Emeka Omeruah . He was also a biafran veteran who later became the Governor of Kogi State.
