(1) He was born in Mount Vernon, New York.

(2) Earl DMX entered the music industry in the year 1984, when he beatboxed for a local rapper named Ready Ron.

(3) In 1986, Earl DMX was arrested for stealing a dog he found at the junkyard and sent to prison for a while.

(4) Earl DMX was part of a musical group of which JAY Z and Ja Rule also belonged to, before they split parts in 1990s.

(5) He was sent to prison for the second time after he was caught for carjacking in 1988. He got arrested and locked up in prison. Then later on, he was moved to a higher security prison after he tried extorting drug from a fellow inmate.

(6) Earl DMX got married to Tashera Simmons for 15 years (1999-2014) of which they had four children.
