Eko Hot Blog reports that a diesel truck went up in flames on Tuesday under the bridge of the Blue Line Rail by Marina, Lagos Island, in Lagos State.
However, men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), in a joint operation with the State Fire and Rescue Service, quickly put out the fire before it could hurt anyone.
The Permanent Secretary, LASEMA, Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, who confirmed the incident, said there was no casuality recorded.
“The combined efforts of the Lagos State Fire service and National Ports authority (NPA) fire service and agency responders have controlled the situation with no risk of secondary incidents,” he said.
Despite reports that the rail caught fire, Jubril Gawat, a spokesperson for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said it was not affected by the fire.
