Gov Bello participated in a football match together with Ex Super Eagles Players like; Austin Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, and so many others.
They all played it out on the pitch with Gov Bello acting as the captain of the New Direction Team while Austin Jay Jay Okocha captained the 1996 Atlanta winning team

The Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has shown his football skills after he scored in a novelty match against the ex-super Eagles Team led by former Super Eagles Captain, Austin JJ Okocha.

The Kogi Governor who captained the team of Kogi State Executive Council team showed his football skills when he registered his name on the score sheet after scoring from the spot kick.

Yahaya Bello led the Kogi State Executive Council team to face the celebrated Ex-Super Eagles team 1994 and 1996 in a novelty match that was held at the the Confluence Stadium in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital on Tuesday.

The Match which ended on one all draw was no doubt an entertaining match with the skills of Super Eagles legends like JJ Okocha, Kanu Nkwankwo and others taking the centre stage.

The Super Eagles team of 1994, 1996 led by JJ Okocha comprises of other super Eagles Legends like Kanu Nwankwo, Peter Rufai, Taribo West, Tijani Babangida, Mutiu Adepoju, Ike Shorunmi and others who featured in the game, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.

On the same vein, the Kogi State Executive Council team led by the state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello also include, the State Deputy Governor, Edward Onoja, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Abdulkareem Asuku, amongst other officials of the state government.

In his address after the match, Yahaya Bello noted that the youths of Nigeria have realized that their destinies are in their hands and now resolved to take power from the older generation who have trained the youths to leadership competence.
