Rave of the moment, Burna Boy, visits his hometown in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, after a long while, as scheduled.
The singer’s visit to Rivers State is coming on the heels of his recent win at the 2021 Grammy Awards, where he was declared the Best Global Album winner for his ‘Twice As Tall’ album.
Burna Boy, the self-styled ‘African Giant’ also visited the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike at the state residence.
On Burna Boy’s arrival at the airport, a zealous crowd who were elated to see the Afro-fusion musician step his foot at home again gave the Nigerian Pride a hearty and hospitable reception, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
Obviously happy, Burna Boy, on his Instagram stories, shared the video clips of his arrival in Port Harcourt and how he was treated well. In the video, his fans were seen holding his sculpture and different placards with welcome messages on them while chanting his name out of excitement.
Earlier in the week, singer Duncan Mighty announced Burna Boy’s homecoming on social media. Duncan Mighty who is also from Rivers State is based in Port Harcourt, unlike Burna Boy who lives in Lagos state.
Since Burna Boy got nominated for Grammy Award in 2020, his fan base keeps expanding and now that he has won the most sought-after award plaque, more music listeners and afrobeats lovers have heard about him and exposing themselves to his music.
