Eko Hot Blog reports that the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has set up a temporary incident station at the scene of the Alapere pedestrian bridge.
The agency disclosed the development in a statement signed by the LASEMA Director-general, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, on Sunday.
Recall that the bridge was destroyed by a truck on Friday.
The Lagos government subsequently promised an immediate repair of the busy pedestrian bridge.
On Sunday, LASEMA said it has activated a temporary incident station at the scene to cater to any potential fallout.
“Following the destruction of the pedestrian bridge at the above location and in line with the Lagos State Emergency Response Plan, LASEMA has activated a temporary incident station at the scene to cater to any potential fallout from Friday’s unfortunate event,” the agency said.
“A fully staffed ambulance and a response vehicle will be in place for the next 24 hours. Members of the public are urged to stay calm.”
