Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has dislodged tricyclists, popular known as Keke drivers, at Anifowoshe street, Ikeja, Lagos.
This comes after a complaint from a resident in the area who accused the Keke drivers of defacing the street.
Commenting on an X post by the Commissioner of Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, an X user, identified as MoSimple raised the alarm on the issue.
She wrote, “Dear Commissioner, thank you for the good job you are doing. Keke NAPEP drivers have turned my street at Anifowoshe, Ikeja into a mechanic village.
“They deface the street and part indiscriminately and insult anyone who complains. I have sent messages to the designated WhatsApp.”
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Sola Giwa, responded to the comment, adding that measures will be taken.
In an X post on Saturday, Giwa noted that he had directed LASTMA officials to dislodge the Keke drivers.
Sharing photos from the exercise, he wrote, “Upon my directive, personnel of #followlastma have dislodged the erring tricyclists and restored normalcy on her street.
“We are committed to responsive governance.”
