  • Two Liverpool coaches were blocked by protesting fans en route to tonight’s game against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Manchester United fans have descended on Old Trafford in their hundreds to continue protesting against their owners ahead of the clash against Liverpool.

Supporters are letting off flares outside the ground, having blocked off the visitors’ bus from its hotel – but both teams are at the historic venue for the game.

It is a continued response by the fanbase to their owners the Glazer in the fallout of the European Super League.

Having broken onto the Old Trafford pitch on May 2, it forced the game to be postponed 11 days later.

A large security presence was in place at the ground in an attempt to prevent a repeat of the chaos.

One of the coaches was blocked on Upper Brook Street with cars parked in its path until police arrived to clear the obstruction.

The coaches were on their way from the Hyatt Regency hotel in Manchester for the 8.15pm kick off.

No Liverpool player or staff has been reported  injured or hurt by the angry protesters, EKO HOT BLOG  gathered.
