• Ahmadu Bello was the leading Northern spokesman during Nigeria’s drive to gain independence from the British.
• He was born in 1909 in Rabah, North West State, a descendant of Uthman don Fodio.

Ahmadu Bello is Sultan Muhammad Bello’s great-grandson and Sultan Atiku Raba’s grandson.

Bello started his education at the Sokoto Provincial School and continued at Katsina Teacher Training College.

 

 

Ahmadu Bello had three wives at the time of his death. Hafsatu, his senior wife, died alongside him. He had three surviving daughters with another wife, Amina (Goggon Kano).

Aisha bint was born in the year 1945. She was married to the late Alhaji Ahmadu Danbaba.
