Eko Hot Blog reports that Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Wednesday, graced the birthday party of his predecessor, Akinwunmi Ambode to celebrate his Diamond Jubilee with him.
Sanwo-Olu, who visited Ambode’s residence where the party took place, had many nice things to say about the immediate past occupant of his seat.
Recall that Sanwo-Olu replaced Ambode as Lagos governor on May 29, 2019, after defeating the latter in the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
But on Wednesday, there was no sign of friction between the former rivals as they spoke highly of each other.
Sanwo-Olu thanked God for his immediate predecessor’s sound mind and health on his 60th birthday.
The governor also expressed hope that Ambode will soon be called upon to serve his people, mankind, and humanity before making a toast to the former governor.
In his response, Ambode appreciated the Lagos governor for his thoughtful visit.
He described the visit as “pleasing to the heart” while praying for the greater success of Sanwo-Olu as governor.
