PHOTOS: Slain Jobseeker, Iniobong Umoren Finally Laid To Rest
- The Akwa-Ibom online job seeker who was raped, murdered and buried in a shallow grave, Hiny Umoren has been finally laid to rest today May 14
Iniobong Umoren had gone for an interview in Akwa-Ibom and was later declared missing by her friend who sent an SOS alert on Twitter with hashtag #FindHinyUmoren which generated uproar on the bird apps on Thursday April 29th 2021. She was later found dead three days later.
The victim went missing while attending a job interview in Akwa Ibom on Thursday.
She had earlier tweeted via her handle, @HinyHumoren, that she needed a job and some people had suggested prospective employers to her.
In a press statement released by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command on May 2, 2021 confirmed Hiny dead and buried in a shallow grave.

“The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Odiko Macdon, in a statement on Sunday, said 20-year-old Akpan lured Umoren to his residence under the pretext of offering her a job before he raped, killed and buried the young graduate,” the statement said.
Her body was later exhumed for proper investigation. Subsequently, the police said in the statement that it has arrested one Uduak Frank Akpan over the disappearance of an online job seeker, Iniobong Umoren.
Iniobong Umoren has been properly buried in her family compound in Akwa-Ibom State, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
