One unique feature about this helicopter is that the crew of the Mi-28 is also provided with an emergency escape device if the helicopter malfunctions while on air.

Lastly, the Mi-28 is equipped with eight Ataka anti-armor missiles and unguarded rocket pods in most cases. The gunship also has a 30 mm cannon.

A129 Mangusta

The A129 Mangusta was the first dedicated attack helicopter built in Western Europe.

Mangusta production was halted in 1992 following the conclusion of the Cold War as a result of poor funding and the operational needs that changed. Later, all Mangustas in Italy were updated to meet the A129 International Standard.

This is due to the fact that it is a light assault helicopter; it has less armor than its competitors.

Despite this, the rotor blades of the Mangusta can survive 30 mm bullets. The Mangusta’s primary mission is to serve as an anti-tank vessel.
