Notably, during the Awujale’s 90th birthday celebration at the Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, President Tinubu conferred the Grand Commander of the Order of Nigeria (GCON)—the nation’s second-highest honor—on the monarch.
The President, represented at the event by Vice President Kashim Shettima, lauded Oba Adetona’s significant contributions to Nigeria’s progress. He also announced the transfer of management of the Oba Sikiru Adetona School of Governance to the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, Jos, ensuring the monarch’s legacy continues to inspire future leaders.
President Tinubu described the Awujale as an extraordinary royal father, a champion of democracy, and a symbol of courage and sincerity, widely respected for his unwavering dedication to national development.
