Eko Hot Blog reports that Tony Blair, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom (UK), has visited President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Blair was the UK PM for ten years between 1997 and 2007.
Tinubu received him on Tuesday at the Defence House, Abuja, where he has resided since he was declared Nigeria’s president-elect.
The former Lagos governor disclosed Blair’s visit in a tweet Monday evening.
He said both leaders discussed areas of mutual interests.
“I received former British Prime Minister and founder Tony Blair Institute for Good Governance, Mr Tony Blair, at the Defence House, Abuja, earlier today,” Tinubu wrote on Twitter.
“We discussed areas of mutual interests and how Nigeria can continue to benefit from the amazing work of the Institute.”
The meeting was also attended by Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and other associates of the president-elect.
Tinubu was declared president-elect after he polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat his opponents in the February 25 election.
His runner-up, Atiku Abubakar of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), polled 6,984,520 votes, while Labour Party’s Peter Obi received 6,101,533 votes to come third.
