EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Abiola Kosegbe, has stated that available records of permits issued by the State will, henceforth, be accessible for public viewing through the MPP&UD Mobile App, available on Google Play and Apple Store.
Engr. Kosegbe spoke on the initiative while featuring on a Magazine Television Programme aired on LTV, saying the measure would facilitate monitoring by all stakeholders, including property owners and developers, for compliance with the type of use, number of units and floors among others.
She sought the support of residents to notify relevant authorities if any construction was deviating from approval.
Explaining that provisional permits are issued temporarily while the applicant’s land title is still being processed by the Lands Bureau, the Permanent Secretary informed that such permits are only valid for nine months.

The regular display of all Planning Permits issued on our Mobile App will serve as a guide, provide the necessary information and discourage illegal physical developments while fast-tracking the achievement of a sustainable Lagos as envisaged by the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda”, she said.
Kosegbe stated that a list of distressed and abandoned buildings would also be uploaded on the app, noting that the initiative of the State Government would enhance service delivery and ensure that members of the public continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
