Governor Simon Lalong has officially flagged off the decontamination of Plateau state as the state step up its campaign to prevent the outbreak of Corona virus in the state.
The Governor while flagging off the de-contamination exercise said all public places such as markets, streets, office premises among others will be fumigated.
The Decontamination exercise expected to last one week is meant to cover the entire seventeen local governments areas of the state
To ensure that the exercise is successful the state government announce a total lock down of the state for 6 days.
Though his speech was disrupted by the rain, the Governor said the lockdown in addition to the de-contamination exercise will help reduce any tendency for inter-state transfer of several kind of diseases.
Dr. Susan Bentu, MD/CEO Agric Services, Training Centre and Marketing limited of the state governmnet saddled the responsibility to carry out the exercise said Decontamination of the environment is key to preventing germs, pests and viruses left on Surfaces especially in Public areas .
With Several state of the art decontamination equipment at its disposal, the Agric Services and Training Centre assured residents that the work will be completed in a week.
