[JUST IN] Protest: Plateau Eases Jos-Bukuru Curfew Restrictions

Plateau State relaxes the 24-hour curfew in Jos-Bukuru, allowing movement between 2pm and 6pm daily due to improved security.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Plateau State Government has eased the 24-hour curfew imposed on the Jos-Bukuru metropolis, effective Wednesday, August 7, 2024, in response to improving security conditions.

Residents are now permitted to move freely between 2pm and 6pm daily until further notice. This adjustment follows consultations between Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang and security agencies.

Governor Mutfwang commended the security forces for their effective enforcement of the curfew and stressed the importance of continued vigilance.

“We must stay alert to avoid any disruptions in law and order,” he stated, emphasizing that the government will keep monitoring the situation and adjust the curfew as necessary.

The governor also called on residents to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities.

“Your cooperation is essential for maintaining the safety of the state. We are dedicated to ensuring the well-being of all citizens,” he said.

Governor Mutfwang acknowledged the public’s compliance with the curfew, praising their role in sustaining peace and order in the region.
