zFormer Plateau State Governor and current Senator representing Plateau South, Simon Lalong, has voiced his concern over the absence of a minister from Plateau State in the Federal Executive Council (FEC) seven months after his resignation.

Lalong, who also serves as the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Plateau State, raised this issue during a stakeholders’ meeting held at the APC Party Secretariat in Jos, the state capital.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Lalong lamented the prolonged absence of Plateau State representation in the FEC, emphasizing the importance of the state having a voice in the federal government.

“It is not fair that Plateau State has been without a minister for seven months,” he stated, higlighting the need for the state’s inclusion in national governance.

In addition to his concerns about the FEC, Lalong also called on the state House of Assembly to promptly swear in the six remaining APC members who have yet to take their oaths of office.

These members were declared winners by the Appeal Court following the 2023 House of Assembly elections but have not been officially sworn in.

During the meeting, Lalong expressed his gratitude for the unity within the party and urged members to remain steadfast in their support for the APC and President Bola Tinubu’s administration. He stressed the significance of the upcoming local government elections, stating that the success of the party in these elections would be crucial to its future in the state.

“We must remain committed to our party and support our President. If he fails, we all fail. But if he succeeds, we all succeed,” Lalong added, calling for continued dedication and unity among the APC members in Plateau State.
