The Jigawa Police Command has apprehended 12 suspects over the death of 40-year-old Yusuf Muhammad in Miga Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
Lawan Shiisu, the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP confirmed the arrest to newsmen in Dutse.
The suspects, who are natives of Hantsu village, allegedly attacked Markewa village in the same local government area on July 2, over a minor misunderstanding.
He explained that as as result, seven persons sustained various degrees of injury and fracture.
The PPRO added that the victims were rushed to the General Hospital, Jahun, in Jahun LGA.
According to him, one of the victims was confirmed dead while receiving treatment at the hospital, while the rest were treated and discharged.
“On June 2, at about 1600hrs, one Muhammad Ibrahim, aged 70, of Markewa village in Miga LGA, reported to the police that on the same date at about 1500hrs, as a result of minor motorcycle accident at Hantsu village, youths attacked Markewa village residents.
“And as a result, one Inusa Abdulhameed, aged 40, Alhaji Muhammad Maianguwa, aged 50, Isubu Abdulhameed, aged 35, Abdulhameed Magaji, aged 70, Kabiru Alhaji Audu, aged 28, and Nafiu Abdullahi, aged 25, all of Markewa village in Miga LGA sustained various degrees of injury and fracture.
