Police Arrest 13 Oyo Prison Attack Escapees In Osun

  • Police operatives have arrested 13 Oyo prison attack escapees in Osun State.

 

EKOHOTBLOG reports that no fewer than 13 Oyo prison attack escapees have been arrested by the Osun State Police Command.

This online news platform had on Saturday reported that hundreds of inmates escaped as gunmen broke into the Abolongo correctional facility in Oyo State.

 

However, the Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Yemisi Opalola, on Sunday confirmed that the inmates were arrested in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State.

The police spokesperson disclosed that the inmates were arrested in different villages in the local government that shared boundaries with Oyo State.

Opalola further stated that the inmates were taken to the State Criminal and Investigation Department at the Police headquarters in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, adding that they would be transferred back to the prison in Oyo after due process.

EKOHOTBLOG reports that the arrested inmates are Adekanbi Kola, Semiu Sali, Garuba Nurudeen, Ismaila Garuba, Nasifi Garuba, and Qadri Yusuf.

Others include Ezekiel Owolabi, Bamidele Kehinde, Daodu Emmanuel, Dele Babatunde, Adeyemo Ifalowo, Ridwan Akinsola and Sola Owolabi.
