Police Arrest 3 Brothers For Murder In Ogun

Three brothers have been arrested by men of the Ogun State Police Command for killing a security guard.

Okiki Mulero 23, Micheal Mulero 21, and Joseph Mulero 17, reportedly committed the offense on Friday, December 25, 2020, by beating to death a So-Safe corps officer at the OGD Estate Asero, Abeokuta.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, made this known through a statement on Monday.

He said misunderstanding began when one of the suspects, Okiki Mulero, a commercial cyclist was denied entrance into the estate for carrying more than one passenger contrary to the rule of the estate.

The PPRO said, “This infuriated him and he called his two brothers, Micheal and Joseph Mulero, who came to the scene and they jointly attacked the two security guards with planks.

“In the process, one of the security men by the name Segun Godfrey Barde was hit with a plank and he slumped.

“He was subsequently rushed to O&A hospital where he gave up the ghost on Friday 25th of December 2020 while receiving treatment.”

The case which got reported to the Obantoko Divisional Headquarters by the executives of the Community Development Association of the estate led to the arrest of the suspects.

Oyeyemi said they have all confessed to the commission of the crime.

The Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has ordered the immediate transfers of the case to the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and prosecution.
