Police Arrest 3 Robbery Suspects in A’Ibom

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has announced the arrest of three members of a notorious robbery syndicate that has been terrorizing the Ikot Abasi village in the state.

Eko Hot Blog reoorts that a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, Timfon John, on Saturday, said the suspects were apprehended on July 1 at around 2 pm after they allegedly robbed a resident of his belongings.

The suspects, identified as John Okon Anta, Michael Osudua, and Inyene Joseph Edet, allegedly attacked and robbed their victim at gunpoint, making off with his QLINK motorcycle, phones, and power bank charger. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had previously robbed two houses in the Afaha Ikot Abasi Village, stealing cell phones and other valuable items.

According to John, the suspects have confessed to the crime and will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

A locally-made pistol was recovered from the suspects, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang.
