The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested two notorious gunrunners and a kidnapping informant, thwarted a kidnapping attempt, and rescued two victims in separate operations.

According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mansir Hassan, on August 14, 2024, operatives from the Anti-Kidnapping Unit intercepted Abulaziz Habibu and Nuhu Thomas in Madaci Village, Zaria, with a fabricated AK-47 rifle. The suspects admitted to supplying weapons to bandits in the Zaria area, providing critical leads for further investigations.

In another operation, the police arrested Abubakar Yahuza, an informant for kidnappers, at Gidan Abeh Village, Kagarko LGA.

On August 18, 2024, police responded to gunfire in Kuriga Village, foiling a kidnapping attempt and rescuing two farmers attacked by bandits. After a brief gunfight, the bandits fled, abandoning their captives.
