Police Arrest Politician Involved In The Abduction Of The Kankara Boys In Kastina

Former Chairman of Jibia Local Government Area in Katsina state, Alhaji Haruna Musa Mota has been arrested by the police for helping kidnappers and bandits in the state.
He was equally alleged as one of the perpetrators in the recent Kankara student’s abduction.
According to the Kastina State Police Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isa, the ex-council chairman was arrested for aiding bandits in Kastina State and he has been arraigned by the police.
Although, the police didn’t disclose when Musa Mota was arrested and arraigned, however, it was gathered that he was arraigned before a senior magistrate court on Friday.
The court said he should be remanded in a correctional facility in the state pending the time the Police will complete the investigation and the State Ministry of Justice will issue legal advice on the case.
According to reports, Musa Mota was arrested over a leaked audio interview he had with bandits after the abduction of the Kankara Schoolboys in Kastina State, EKO HOT BLOG gathered.
The Kankara schoolboys were abducted by armed bandits from their secondary school in December 2020. They were later freed by the bandits after spending six days in captivity.
During a peace meeting with Sheikh Gumi in Zamfara State last week, some bandits revealed that top government officials are giving them information to aid their operation and evade arrest.
