Police Arrest Shatta Wale For Fake Gun Prank
- Ghanaian artiste Shatta Wale has been arrested by the Ghana Police Force
- The artiste was pictured in handcuffs for spreading false information that caused panic
Ekohotblog reports that Ghanaian dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale has been arrested by the Ghana Police Force for playing a prank that he had been shot by unknown gunmen.
The police had been in search of Shatta Wale since news broke out that the artiste had been shot by some unknown gunmen in East Legon.

To further complicate matters the singer’s representative Nana Dope further posted a message via his social media account claiming that Shatta Wale had been rushed to the emergency ward of a hospital.
However subsequent events and confession by Shatta Wale revealed that the whole gunshot scenario was a prank.
Early today, the Ghana Police service through their official Facebook page stated that the singer turned himself in after they had declared him wanted. They also arrested Shatta Wale for “creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic”.
The statement reads, “The Police have arrested Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta Wale. After we publicly declared him and one other person wanted, the suspect, Shatta Wale, turned himself in today Tuesday 19th October 2021, at 8.59 pm.
“He has been arrested to assist the Police in investigations for his alleged involvement in the creation and circulation of information intended to cause fear and panic. As stated in previous statements, the public is advised to desist from publishing false information, capable of disturbing the peace of the country or risk being arrested and prosecuted.”
The police also said it has arrested two other persons connected to the artiste in this “fake shooting incident”.
The two others arrested are Kojo Owusu Koranteng and Eric Venator, according to the police they circulated the false information with regards to Shatta Wale being shot and the media also carried the story.
