A teacher at Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, Lagos state identified as Mrs Stella Nwadigo has been arrested over the alleged physical abuse of a three-year-old child, Abayomi Micheal.
A viral video surfaced online showing a visibly Mrs Stella hitting the little boy on the head and face whilst teaching him on Wednesday.
The video, which attracted condemnation from several citizens, was shared on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook.
Hours after the video surfaced on the internet, the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, issued a statement confirming that the suspect had been arrested.
According to the Adejobi: “One Stella Nwadigo, aged 45, the teacher who physically abused the 3-year-old Abayomi Micheal of Christ-Mitots School in Ikorodu, has been arrested by the police.
She was arrested today, Tuesday, January 8, 2025, immediately after the criminal act. Justice must be served.”
