Police Arrest Three Men for Stealing 45,000 litres Petrol Tanker in Oyo

- Three suspects arrested for hijacking a fuel truck carrying 45,000 litres of petrol on the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Road.
- Police recovered the truck at a filling station in Odo-Ona Kekere, Ibadan, during an attempt to siphon the fuel.
- Suspects confessed and revealed the role of an accomplice named Femi, leading to the arrest of another key planner, Basiru Azeez.
The Oyo State Police Command has arrested three men who stole a truck carrying 45,000 litres of petrol on the Ibadan-Ijebu-Ode Road.
Police spokesperson, Adewale Osifeso, said the fuel belongs to NIPCO Petroleum Nigeria Limited. He explained that the police got a tip-off about the crime and quickly sent a special team to investigate.

Two suspects, 35-year-old Oyekunle Olaoluwa and 51-year-old Akanji Ladele (real name not confirmed), were caught while trying to transfer the fuel at Lincoln Filling Station in Odo-Ona Kekere, Ibadan.
During questioning, the two men said that another man, named Femi, gave them the stolen truck. Femi was said to be the mastermind of the hijacking.

Further investigation led to the arrest of a third suspect, 30-year-old Basiru Azeez. He admitted he helped plan the hijacking and explained how they moved the truck after stealing it.
