Police Begin Manhunt As New Tenants Allegedly Steal Three Children

  • Police have begun manhunt as new tenants allegedly steal three children.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Ogun state police command has launched manhunt as two women, who were new tenants in a building at Ajuwon, Ifo Local Government Area of the state reportedly kidnapped three children.

The women were said to have allegedly absconded with the kids at Itsekiri street in Ajuwon axis.

It was gathered that the event happened on Friday evening, barely four days after the new tenants moved into the house.

The women had claimed to be students of a school in Ikeja area of Lagos State, stating that they would stay at the apartment for three weeks to allow them complete their examinations.

The Police Spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, saying the command has launched a manhunt for the suspects.

He described the incident as a case of “child stealing.”

He said no arrest has been made in connection with the crime.

Oyeyemi said, “It is a case of child stealing. The perpetrators disguised themselves as new tenants. They rented an apartment, moved in and they have stayed there for about one week.

“As part of their tactics, they became friendly with the old tenants’ kids, but the parents didn’t sense any danger.

“Suddenly, they pounced on three kids and took them away. The incident happened on Friday.

 

“No arrest has been made. We are still investigating the matter.”
