Police Chief Hands Over N1.5bn To Families Of Fallen Officers

Eko hot blog reports that In a heartfelt gesture, the Inspector-General of Police chiefs,IGP Kayode Egbetokun, distributed a whopping N1.594 billion to the grieving families and dependents of deceased officers.

Held at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Abuja, the ceremony saw 727 beneficiaries receive support.
“We understand the pain and loss these families endure,” expressed IGP Egbetokun, urging them to utilize the funds for the well-being of their loved ones left behind.
Breakdown of the disbursement revealed N55 million designated for 311 beneficiaries under group life insurance, while N761 million was allocated to 178 beneficiaries for life assurance balance payments. Furthermore, N167 million went to 78 beneficiaries for full group life assurance for the year 2022/2023, and N113 million was disbursed for 100% insurance payment to 149 beneficiaries.
Highlighting previous support, the IGP mentioned that over N7 billion had been distributed to more than 2,000 families as life assurance and IGP welfare insurance, aiming to alleviate their financial burdens during these challenging times.
