However, in the pre-dawn hours, police swarmed a tent city at UCLA, using force to disperse protesters and arresting over 200 individuals.

“I’m a student here,” said a protester named Ryan. “Please don’t fail us.”

Biden addressed the protests, stating, “Destroying property is not a peaceful protest.”

The protests followed a deadly attack on Israel by Hamas militants and an Israeli offensive resulting in thousands of deaths.

Counter-protesters accused pro-Palestinian demonstrators of fostering anti-Jewish sentiment.

 

Additionally, classes were canceled at UCLA following a violent clash between protesters and counter-demonstrators.

UCLA officials stated the encampment endangered students and needed to end.

Furthermore, Taylor Gee, a pro-Palestinian protester and UCLA law student, criticized the police operation.

The UCLA campus remained closed except for limited operations on Thursday and Friday.
