Police May Arraign Ogun Deputy Speaker For Violent Conduct
- The deputy speaker was detained for about two days at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta
He was was later released on self-recognition after being held for 48 hours
Police authorities in Ogun State have disclosed that the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Oludare Kadiri, may be arraigned over allegation of violent conduct during the registration and revalidation exercise of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
The State’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, on Sunday said the Deputy Speaker would be arraigned in court except the complainants opted for out-of-court settlement.
Kadiri was accused of leading suspected hoodlums to invade the residence of the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, in Oru Ijebu, Ijebu North Local Government Area of the state.

The Deputy Speaker was also alleged to have led thugs to invade the residence of a former legislator, Adebiyi Odugbesan.
The state police spokesman said, “Preliminary investigation so far revealed that the deputy speaker is culpable of all the allegations (against him).
“It is likely (we arraign him in court) except if those who brought those allegations against him opt to settle out of court. If not, he would be arraigned in court.”
