The arrest and recovery followed a credible tip-off, which led to a well-coordinated, intelligence-led operation along the Owode-Ikorodu axis by one of the Command’s tactical teams.
“During the operation, the suspects were found in possession of a locally made pistol and six live cartridges.
“Investigations revealed that they are active members of a cult group known for its involvement in violent crimes.”
He revealed that the three apprehended cult group suspects were key players in facilitating the movement and distribution of illegal firearms across Lagos State. Their illicit activities have posed a significant threat to public safety and security.
Hundeyin further emphasized that law enforcement efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend other wanted members of the group.
He said the police will bring charges against the arrested suspects in accordance with due process and the rule of law upon the completion of their investigation.
