Edo State Commissioner of Police, Iwo Nemi, has also mandated the arrest of individuals driving unregistered vehicles or those with obscured license plates.
In a statement released to journalists on Wednesday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Yamu, Commissioner Nemi explained that these measures are aimed at combating the rising incidences of kidnapping, robbery, and cultism in the state.
The commissioner stated that the law will be enforced rigorously and without exception, including the impoundment of such vehicles.
He warned the public to avoid using vehicles that fall under these categories to prevent arrest, as the law applies equally to all.
Additionally, Commissioner Nemi called on the citizens of Edo State to support the police in their efforts to maintain public safety, particularly as the state approaches election season.
