EKO HOT BLOG reports that Igbos in the Abule Ado area of Lagos State have reportedly been attacked.
The alleged incident occurred after the governorship and house of the assembly elections took place in the state on Saturday.
In a video making the rounds on social media, two young Igbo men were carried into a vehicle after they were allegedly wounded by suspected political thugs.
Reacting to the development, Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced that normalcy has been restored to the area.
He, however, stated that contrary to the claim on social media, an intra-community fight broke out in the area earlier this morning resulting in the destruction of property.
“Owing to the timely arrival of the police, no life was lost and no property was razed as widely claimed.
“Two persons have been arrested and an investigation has commenced into the matter. Police officers remain on the ground to prevent further breakdown of law and order,” the PRO added.
