Police Recover N1.3m From Gunmen In Abuja
- Police officers have recovered N1.3 million from gunmen in Abuja.
The FCT Police Command says it has recovered N1.3 million from five unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers arrested by the operatives of the Command in Abuja, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the FCT, ASP Mariam Yusuf, made this known via a statement in Abuja on Sunday.
The police spokesperson disclosed that the recovered money was paid as ransom to the suspects, noting that three mobile phones, charms, three wristwatches, and two caps were also recovered from the gunmen.
Yusuf added that the suspects terrorising Tungan-maje, Bwari, and Kwali-Kuje axis of Abuja were arrested by the operatives from the Command’s Anti Kidnapping Squad during an intelligence-led operation.

It was gathered that the suspects, however, confessed after interrogation to belonging to a notorious syndicate of kidnappers involved in the recent abductions along Bwari-Byzahin, Kuje-Kwali axis, and Niger State.
The police spokesperson further stated that two suspects were also arrested over the link to a kidnapping operation on Tunga-maje axis.
Yusuf added that the suspects would be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of an investigation.
She, therefore, enjoined residents to report all suspicious movements, emergency, or distress to the command on 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883.
Yusuf added that the conduct of police officers could also be reported to the Public Complaint Bureau (PCB) on 09022222352.
