A Reverend Sister who was abducted by gunmen at Ichama in Okpokwu Local Government Area of Benue State has been rescued by police operatives, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.
The Reverend Sister was reportedly abducted around 11pm on Friday when some gunmen invaded a convent at Ichama in Okpokwu Council of Benue State.
It was, however, gathered that the policemen on patrol were alerted of the incident and gave the kidnappers a hot chase, making them abandon the Reverend Sister.
The Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Catherine Anene, stated this while reacting to the latest development on Saturday.

“About 2300hrs, information was received that armed men overpowered the civilian security man at the gate of the convent in Ichama village and adopted a Reverend Sister.”
“The police on routine patrol in the area responded quickly and chased the hoodlums into a nearby forest where they abandoned the victim and took to their heels,” the police spokesperson said.
Anene added that the Reverend Sister had been taken to an undisclosed hospital in Okpoga, headquarters of Okpokwu Council, where she is currently responding to treatment.
She further noted that police operatives were on the trail of the suspects.
