Police Seeks Common Boundary With Communities For Better Policing

The Nigerian police command has seeked common boundary with communities in better community policing through a stakeholders community policing critical appraisal meeting with the theme, Community Interface For Better Policing.

The event which was powered by Nigerian Policing Programme (NPP) Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), had in attendance all the DPO’s under the Area H police command, Traditional Leaders, Community Members and speakers.

In his statement the chairman Of PCRC, Apostle Kehinde Showemimo enjoined everyone to join hands with PCRC in securing the communities.

“ The PCRC is here to bound the police and the communities together in keeping the community safe and we beg everyone to join hands with PCRC in keeping our communities secured.” He said

Also speaking the Guest Speaker, Senior policing adviser, Nigerian Policing Programme, AIG Austin Iwari Rtd said that community policing is about how the police do the work of policing the communities.

“ As part of advocacy for community policing as an important program to the federal government, part of community policing is community engagement, ensuring that the communities are critical stakeholders and partners in dealing with the issues affecting the community.”

We are here to sensitize and creat awareness, making communities understand the impact of what the police is doing in the communities and the benefits to them as partners. “ he said
