EKO HOT BLOG reports that the invitation, issued by ACP Adamu Muazu on behalf of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Intelligence Response Team, warned that a warrant for Ajaero’s arrest would be issued if he fails to comply.
The letter, dated for an interview on Tuesday, 20th August 2024, reads, “This office is investigating a case of Criminal Conspiracy, Terrorism Financing, Treasonable Felony, Subversion, and Cybercrime in which you have been implicated.
“You are therefore required to report to the undersigned for an interview at Old Abattoir by Guzape Junction, Abuja. If you fail to honour this letter, this office will have no choice but to issue a warrant for your arrest.”
This development follows accusations by the NLC that the government is waging a campaign against the organisation.
The NLC recently condemned a raid on its headquarters by security forces, rejecting the police’s justification and demanding an apology, the return of seized items, and the release of detained individuals.
The NLC has also criticized what it views as government interference in its internal affairs, including proposed changes to the tenure of trade union leaders, which the union argues violate both national labour laws and international conventions.

The police, however, maintain that the raid was part of an effort to apprehend an international terrorist suspect, a claim the NLC has dismissed as a cover-up.
