EKO HOT BLOG reports that no fewer than two policemen on a stop-and-search operation have been killed by unknown gunmen at the Diobu axis of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
This online newspaper gathered that the police officers, attached to the Mile One Police Division, were shot dead at Okija Street while trying to block the hoodlums from making a U-turn at the checkpoint.
Speaking on the attack, a Commander of a local vigilante group in the area, Phalga Security Watch, Victor Ohaji, disclosed that the assailants opened fire on the policemen who tried to stop them after attempting to make a U-turn at the checkpoint.

He added that the vigilant group requires assistance in the yuletide to fight crimes in the area.
The incident was further confirmed by the Rivers State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nnamdi Omoni, noting that the State Police Command is on the trail of the gunmen.
