Pope Francis Gives Nigerian Bishop, Monsignor Ajang New Appointment
Monsignor David Ajang of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos has been appointed the second Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Lafia by Pope Francis.
The Archdiocese of Jos’ Vicar-General, Monsignor Cletus Gotan, announced the news to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Jos.
According to Gotan, the Pope announced the appointment on Wednesday.
He said that preparations for the installation of the new bishop would commence soon.

Ajang was ordained a priest of the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos in December 1994.
The 51-year-old replaces Archbishop Matthew Audu, the first bishop of Lafia diocese.
Audu is currently the chief shepherd of the Metropolitan Sea of Jos.
