Following the arrest, the commissioner highlighted that the state Governor, Dave Umahi, had earlier banned religious activities but overturned it with specific guidelines and conditions after pleas from CAN.
Emegha said, “One of the conditions is that service must begin and end between 8am to noon, as was agreed with the Christian bodies but regretably, today, some neighbours alerted us that the General Oversee of Christian Victory Prayer Ministry was holding service till 2pm.
“The Commissioner said “it was observed that the clergy was still conducting service and when we wanted to inquire from him why he should disobey government directive, he insisted we must wait until he is through with his deliverance service before he would attend to us.”
Mr Emegha announced that the church had been sealed off, and added that Bishop Dan had been placed on compulsory 14 days quarantine.
He would be prosecuted later according to the COVID-19 laws to serve as deterrent to others, he said.
