Popular Singer Akon Joins US Presidential Race

Veteran international singer Akon has declared his intention to contest alongside Kanye West, for the position of United States president in 2024.

Akon made the declaration during an interview with The Shade Room (TSR) where he stated that his engagement with music might be a challenge.

Akon said, “I know what the issues are, and as a person, as an immigrant, as a
black man, as whatever you want to call it. I kind of know or feel like I know
that I can take the country and move it forward.”

Speaking further on the matter, Akon encouraged other entertainers to enter
the race, as he said he would love to see West run for President too, adding that the Kim Kardashian husband isn’t crazy.

When asked if he thinks he could beat Kanye, Akon said, “Well I don’t think it
would be a competition, I honestly need him to run.

“My thing is, if he does run, it’s great for the culture. Now if you think he’s not
fit, that’s another thing, that’s why you got me as another choice.”

Weeks ago, West reaffirmed that he will become the US president in 2024.

He made the affirmations during an interview with Beats 1 presenter Zane Lowe.

“There will be a time when I will be the President of the US and I will remember… any founder that didn’t have the capacity to understand culturally what we were doing,” said West.
