Popular TVC Presenter And Co-host Of Wake Up Nigeria, Yomi Owope Resigns

Abayomi Owope, Co-host of TVC Breakfast Show, Wake Up Nigeria has taken a bow.

On Friday July 17, 2020 the Wake Up Nigeria show marked 3 years of entertaining, informing and educating Nigerian homes every morning with a special live show to commemorate the occasion.

The station took to its official Instagram page to share photos of all the presenters and producers who had been making things happen over the last three years.

Although the top presenters are Yomi Owope and Titilayo Oyinsan, other presenters like Mary Bashua-Alimi, Mike Mesikenor, Emem Ime and Tope Olowoniyan were also celebrated.

It is not yet known whether Yomi resigned from anchoring the show or he resigned from TVC totally.

But in a post on Friday night, Yomi said he has bigger things ahead and this is only the beginning of a new journey.

Fans flooded the comment section to wish him well.

He wrote:

“Today was my final day on #wakeupnigeria @tvcconnect, after 780 episodes through 36 months! Quite a journey, but I am thankful for every step. Big thanks to management and my buddies – the team! You guys work really hard. Well done, and thanks for today too. I have many things to say – good things- but not today. I wore my Christmas clothes early though, so you guys know you’re really special!”.

Yomi Owope is the founder of ‘Women in Journalism’, an annual conference celebrating females in the media profession.

He is married and has three kids with his wife, Ayotunde.
