Portable: A Quick Desperate Rise To Fame
- Portable: A Rising Star For The Future
When a certain young artist released a song last year titled, ‘Zazoo Zeh’, a lot of music lovers started asking, “Zazoo what!”. Well, the slang ‘Zazoo’, which is basically a feminine title of Hebrew origin meaning, ‘Movement., became a hit song last year, from the rave of the moment, Portable.
If anyone had told singer and dancer, Portable, that by the end of last year, he would be one of the raves of the moment, he probably would have fought it off. However, that is exactly what is happening to him since he became popular for his song titled, ‘Zazoo Zeh’, featuring popular singer and rapper, Olamide Adedeji.

Born Habeeb Okikiola, Portable is an artist who has waited to grab his opportunity to become a star since he was young, and he did grab the headlines with his hit song, last year.
Featuring Olamide and Poco Lee, his song, ‘Zazoo Zeh’, hit the airwaves, and consequently, he started hugging the headlines for good reasons, until he allowed stardom to get a hold of him.
Desperation for fame
Since his song became a hit, Portable has tried everything possible to remain in the spotlight. From causing a few disturbances on the streets to falling out with his friend, Poco Lee and his music promoter, Kogbagidi, he has made sure he remained in the limelight.
These are good strategies in some cases, but they may cause more harm than good, if not properly managed.
He had a fallout with Poco Lee after he accused the latter of taking $2400 out of the $3000 that Wizkid allegedly ‘sprayed’ him during their performance at the Live spot concert in Lagos.
Portable also stated that Poco Lee was trying to claim the rights to ‘Zazoo Zeh’. In a video that went viral, Portable said in pidgin English, “Poco Lee, you didn’t show love towards me. You only wanted to rip (sic) me because you claimed my song. Is ‘Zazoo’ yours?”
Though Poco Lee did not respond to Portable’s claims, several celebrities, including rapper, Olamide; and actor, Ijebu, sued for peace. The singer also made a video apologizing for the earlier video in which he called out Poco Lee.
His beef with his promoter, began after he accused, Kogbagidi, of using him to make money. In a viral video, Portable bumped into Kogbagidi and created a scene in public as he demanded for his car.
The fast-rising musician could be seen wielding a big stick as he demanded for his car, after claiming Kogbagidi allegedly ripped him off his money and using him to put up a show. He also accused him of taking all the proceeds and not giving him what he deserve, an accusation Kogbagidi described in these words: “Unruly and unprofessional conduct, that should always be expected from up-and-coming artistes. One can never tell what goes on in their minds or heads. I am shocked and embarrassed at this point. Do I need to fix your career and your head at the same time?”
However, Portable has done his best to settle his differences with his promoter, as he made a video late December, apologizing to him.
Friends with law enforcement agencies
Thankfully, he has tried to stay out of the way of law enforcement agencies, and he may want to remain that way if he intends dishing out hits after hits. For now, let’s dance to some ‘Zazoo Zeh’ please.
