Eko Hot Blog reports that Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, a controversial singer, has publicly criticized Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, better known as Davido, after the latter unfollowed him on Instagram.
The feud allegedly started when Portable accused Davido of providing guidance that he believed hindered his music career.
He took to his Instagram story saying, “Normal normal make we talk na. What gan should I be scared of human when I am still scared of God and he should forgive me for all of my sins?
“I came to America myself and you all mingle with me and gave me bad advice and I don’t like the advice and he quickly unfollowed us because he didn’t benefit from us.”
Specifically, Portable claimed that Davido gave him “bad advice” against signing with Sony Music and instead recommended Empire, which the street pop singer thinks held him back from achieving his goal of winning a Grammy Award.
Portable clapped back at Davido’s unfollow with a bold declaration of independence, asserting that he doesn’t need the DMW boss’s backing or followers to achieve success or take home a Grammy Award.
Portable confidently stated that he can make it big without Davido’s support, further fueling the rift between the two artists.
Undeterred by Davido’s unfollow, Portable vowed to press on with his tour and pursue his ambitions, including clinching a Grammy Award, without relying on Davido’s support or validation.
In a video message posted on his Instagram page, Portable declared: “They tried to destroy me and quickly unfollowed me because I stopped being beneficial to them.
“Whether you help me or not, I will do my tour; whether you follow me or not, I will collect Grammy.”
